Ministries

“A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.” Psalm 84:10.

In this era of ours alike Families in the secular world, the Church Families under go through deep Crisis, facing separation, and divorce, which of course inflicts excruciating pain, and unspeakable suffering to the children in that Marriage. Within the Family to reduce tension, and bring healing or therapy the following must be observed:

The youth ministry here at the EECT is all about progressing from where we at right now to where we need to be ultimately, in God’s great purpose. Heskias Mandefro started up the current youth ministry over 5 years ago. He was a man truly set apart to see holes that the rest of us did not see.We had a Sunday school system that was in English and a Young Adults Ministry that worshiped in Amharic, and as we got older, the gap between the two groups developed into a new mission frontier.

The women of Ethiopian Evangelical Church in Toronto church are a huge part of our church leadership and you’ll find them serving as teachers, elders, deacons and other important ways. Women’s Ministries at EECT seek to provide opportunities for women to draw closer to Christ, to fellowship with other EECT women, to support and encourage one another. We invite you to step into God’s story and be transformed through Bible studies, support groups, service opportunities, and special events. Individually and together, let’s share the joy and hope of Christ with our community.

Our children ministry provides biblical teaching through Sunday school classes. We don’t want our children to merely learn about God; we want them to know Him intimately. Children are given the opportunity to worship the Lord, pray together, and for each other. Our Children’s ministry is divided in to 2 group based on their age.

Young Adults Ministry lead by Brother Heskias Mandefro to provide meaningful programs in all areas of church life. Our Ministry provides opportunity for young adults to share and grow in faith, experience the transformational power of Jesus, serve their neighbors, and foster community with one another. Young Adults Ministry prepares it’s members & provides opportunity for leadership experience. Young Adult Ministry is a community where all are welcome to grow together in faith, hope and love through worship, outreach, and stewardship. Counseling in the secular setting is the use of various techniques to help a person solve a conflict or better his life adjustment. However, Biblical Counseling is part of Spiritual support to our Members, and others who seek our help.

Our Worship Team at EECT plays a vital role in creating a prophetic atmosphere in our worship services. The Praise & Worship team helps to lead the congregation into worship for our regular and special worship services. Our worship ministry is to encourage people to open up to the reality of the gospel in their life. The team is made up of volunteers who lend their voices and instrumental gifts. They are supported by a number of people “behind the scenes” that mix sound, control lighting, and manage the PowerPoint presentations. If you would like to be part of our Praise & Worship team, please click the button below to contact.

Choir Ministry is a wonderful way to express our love and service to the Lord. We are so grateful for the opportunity to sing and praise the One who made us and in return see God bless others as we minister to Him in worship. Our choir enjoys not just the fellowship of each other’s company, but also the beauty of singing together. Choir at EETC meets regularly for practice and preparation of hymns and special anthems. The choir is always open to new members, and fosters a very welcoming environment. Prayer is essential in every Christian’s life. Prayer is an invisible fort that built around us to protect us. Without the prayer your witness will be far less effective, and you will be far more vulnerable to the enemy. We need to pray and we need to be prayed for. Prayer is a critical component of our relationship with Jesus Christ. Prayer is an integral part of all our ministries and missions. We have groups that dedicated for praying for the needy. We also have regular prayer sessions for sick and the needy, Congregational Prayer Services. If you required prayers, please click the button below to let us know.

Bible is the Word of God. It contains the mind of God and His will for each one of our lives. We want to make sure it is not misrepresented, not misunderstood. Studying Bible is important for our spiritual foundation as Christians, to know God and his purpose better, to help others and avoid errors. We have several groups that are committed to getting together regularly for the primary purpose of studying the word of God. We do this for needs in our church, community, and around the world. We meet on regular basis in person and reconnect throughout the month to encourage each other, be real, and connect Jesus to our everyday thoughts and actions. If you would like to be a part of one of our prayer groups, please scroll down to our listing below, and choose one that’s a great fit for your schedule.

The Deacons serve a vital role in assisting the church ministry staff in ministering to the needs of the church body. Jesus reminded his followers in word and deed that he was among them as one who serves and the Deacons are moving forward in imitating Jesus as servants in the congregation. Handling the role of Deacon brings both honor and responsibility. Deacons maintain close communication with both the membership & the staff ministers. Our Deacons are active in all aspects of our church life, they are people of integrity who love the Lord, are compassionate and have a servant’s heart, as well as people of prayer. They fulfill the biblical mandate, “Help carry one another’s burdens, and in this way you will obey the law of Christ.”

Ushers & Greeters are the first members of the church to greet and welcome the congregation. Their smile, warmth and love reflect the church’s joy of having you worshipping with us. The purpose of the Usher is that of doorkeeper and special assistant to the Pastor. The Usher, like the Greeter, sets the mood of the people as they enter the house of the Lord. They are courteous and kind, yet stern. They give a smile and a warm welcome to brighten each ones day. They also assist the pastor in keeping good order and discipline in the house of God during service. They are watchful for those walking, talking, and being disorderly during service. This is a vital ministry to the people of God. If you are a member of EECT and would like to be an Usher or a Greeter, contact us by clicking the button below.

Currently EECT leasing the space from Canada Christian College it’s for Sunday Services and some of the church activities such as choir practices, prayer meetings and bible studies. We are also renting Ethiopia Centre for many other activities including 24/7 use for prayer & other meetings. A permanent building will greatly help EECT more effectively to reach our community for Christ and minister to our growing congregation in the best ways possible. Having our own space for 24/7 will enhance our financial ability to serve the community better. Not having to rent multiple spaces will allow us to budget our finance more effectively. Our Building Search Ministry Team working hard toward this goal. Thank you for your support and giving as we get closer to our goal. Click below to DONATE NOW!
